The following alert was posted by the New York Association on Independent Living, (NYAIL) …
Restoring eligibility cuts to home care is one of NYAIL’s priorities. Let’s support this effort lead by Downstate NY ADAPT and help spread the word!
2022 REPEAL & RESTORE RALLY
Secure the future of homecare eligibility!
When? Monday February 7th at 11:30AM (in-person) or 12PM (virtually).
How? IN PERSON or VIRTUAL! YOU decide how you want to join the fight!
What? Help us tell the Senate and the Assembly to REPEAL the restrictions NYS made to home care access!
THANK YOU for supporting ADAPT’s #SaveNYHomeCare Campaign.
As you know - Medicaid Redesign Team II proposed STRICTER eligibility criteria for home care that will deny thousands of home care applicants, forcing them to either go into an institution or be left in the community with no support. Luckily, bills A5367/S5028 will REPEAL this change! Help us tell the Senate and Assembly to INCLUDE THESE BILLS IN THEIR ONE-HOUSE BUDGET and save lives!
Join DNY ADAPT’s first in-person action of the year, where we will fight for New York State’s COMMITMENT to valuing disabled lives. **PLEASE SHARE**
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
To participate and watch virtually, please register for our 12PM Zoom event here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZAsc--hqD8tG9XiE9lJodvUaBiF4Cl2xyOX
If you want to join us as we protest in-person, please email us at DNYADAPT@gmail.com. DO NOT “reply all” to this email. Out of respect for those high risk members of our organization, we strongly encourage only those that are masked and vaccinated to attend the in-person piece of the event. Please email us personally saying that you would like to attend with your contact information. You will then receive the action location and further details.
