Salvation Army Daily Food Hand-Outs

Coronavirus Pandemic Announcements

This announcement is on The Salvation Army - Plattsburgh, NY Facebook Page:

HI all…

We have some new folks who are wondering what is going on around here!
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays - STARTING at 11:30am, rain or shine, we hand out bags of food that have been donated to us from various stores around Plattsburgh. We start handing these out AT 11:30am (if you come before then, you will be asked to leave and come back. The joys of keeping social distancing.) and continue until all the food is gone. Some days, it’s all gone in 15 minutes. Other days, it takes longer. We ask that you drive to our facility (4804 S. Catherine St, Plattsburgh, NY), pull into the parking spaces out front, STAY IN YOUR CAR, we will pop your trunk, put the food in there, ask you a few questions, and send you on your way.

IF you must walk, we ask that you line up on the front side walk at the stop signs. You MUST maintain the 10 feet between you and others. We will put your food on the table, back away, allow you to take it, ask you a few questions, and send you on your way.

If you are need of the food pantry -

You must call 518-561-2951 to make an appointment of when you can come to pick up a food box. The food pantry is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 11:30am - 1:30pm and Thursday: 10:00am - 1:30pm. Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday: CLOSED. When we have you on the phone, we will get some information from you. When you arrive, pull into the parking spaces in front of our building, on S. Catherine St., call us to let us know you have arrived, we will bring the food out to your car, STAY IN THE CAR, we will put the food in your trunk. We will need to see ALL ID’s for EVERYONE in the household and proof of residency. Please show us these through the window of the car. If you do not bring these items, you will have to make another appointment to receive your food.

The food pantry is available every 30 days ONLY.

We know this all sounds very cumbersome, and it is! But we want YOU to stay safe and we want our workers to stay safe.

Blessings!
